Uto Essien simply known as UTO was born in the quiet town of Eket in Nigeria. The third in the family of seven of Mr and Mrs Ralph Essien ,she was captivated by her parents love for all kinds of music. Enchanted by 'Maria in the epic movie, Sound of music,she was determined that someday her voice also would be heard from far and near. She also fell in love with female musicians such as Donna Summer and Whitney Houston . though she loves all kinds of music ,she is particularly drawn to country/rock music. A law graduate from the University of Uyo in 2002,she was called to the Nigerian bar in 2004. She is currently the Head of Practice in her Law firm but in spite of her busy and hectic schedule as a legal practitioner, she is very passionate about her call which is leading people to a place of pure and sincere worship to God. She gave her life to Christ as a teenager and has been in active choir ministry for about 18 years. She has also pioneered an all female singing group "Sistas",whose focus was excellence in worship. Her hit single "Okposong Abasi"is an interpretation of what she feels about her God. He is awesome and worthy of praise.
